Awesome photo! ^^ Captured nicely. But, though it isn't part of the main subject. What's with the little booties on the horse in the background? On it's front hooves, are they to protect the horse? or another horse if it gets upset or something? (*Ish be totally in the dark here*) I'm just curious. ^^

The boots on his canon bone (the long bone) is to protect his leg and his tendons from bowing and just so other horses don't nic him or anything. Then the boot that covers the majority of his hoof is a bell boot, and thats protecting his fetlock and the bulb of the hoof. The boot prevents the horse from overreaching with his hind end and kicking or stepping on his front hooves. I'm sure it also helps prevent the broncs from messing up his hooves too. :)
